Instructions
In a medium sauce pan mix the water and sugar.
Bring to a boil on medium heat and stir the the sugar is dissolved.
Remove the pot from the heat and add the tea with the spices. Let steep for about 5 minutes.
Strain the mixture trough a sieve into a clean bottle or jar with a tight lid.
Let cool and store in the fridge.
Notes
Masala Chai Tea:You can make chai simple syrup with tea bags or loose tea. Use a masala chai tea mix, often referred to spiced tea on the package, or make your own by mixing black tea leaves with your choice of spices. You can also get a masala spice mix and add that together with the black tea.Storage:Keep your syrup in the fridge for up to 3 weeks or freeze. Expand the shelf life with a sterilized bottle and citric acid (find more details in the post)
