Notes
Chiffonade Basil: In case you do not know how to chiffon your basil I have explained how to use the chiffon technique above. Here are some helpful tips for this recipe:
Tomato Varieties: Feel free to experiment with different tomato varieties for unique flavor profiles. Options like heirloom tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, or vine-ripened tomatoes can add interesting textures and colors to the salad.
Fresh Mozzarella: Opt for fresh mozzarella for the best taste and texture. It's typically found in the form of a ball or log packed in water. If using pre-sliced mozzarella, make sure it's fresh and of good quality.
Balsamic Glaze: If you prefer a thicker and sweeter dressing, substitute balsamic vinegar with balsamic glaze. Drizzle it over the salad for a beautiful presentation and intensified flavor.
Serving Temperature: This salad is best enjoyed at room temperature to allow the flavors to meld together. However, you can chill it in the refrigerator for a refreshing twist on hot summer days.
Make-Ahead: While the salad is best served fresh, you can prepare the ingredients in advance and assemble shortly before serving.
Leftovers: If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Consume within 1-2 days for optimal taste and texture.
