What is Passoa?

Passoa is a passion fruit liqueur from France. It is made by macerating the juice and pulp of passion fruit, along with other natural ingredients, in alcohol. This results in a sweet and fruity liqueur that is perfect for mixing into cocktails, like your Passoa orange cocktail recipe.

However, it's important to remember that Passoa does contain alcohol and its sweetness can mask the alcohol's potency. As a result, it's essential to consume Passoa in moderation and let it sit for a while before drinking to avoid any unpleasant surprises. Despite this caution, Passoa's unique passion fruit flavor makes it a popular choice for creating delicious and refreshing cocktails.

Check out the Passoa website to find out where you can get your bottle.

🥣Equipment

To make your Passoa orange cocktail, you'll need a few essential pieces of equipment. Here are the tools you'll need, along with a brief explanation of how they relate to the recipe:

  • Shaker: A cocktail shaker is a must-have tool for mixing and chilling your cocktail ingredients. In this recipe, you'll use your shaker to combine the Passoa and orange juice with ice before straining the mixture into a glass.
  • Jigger: A jigger is a small measuring tool used to ensure you're adding the correct amount of each ingredient to your cocktail. A liquid measuring cup would also work.
  • Sieve: To strain out the ice pieces after shaking
  • Glass: Finally, you'll need a suitable glass to serve your Passoa orange cocktail in. Any tall glass will do, but a classic hurricane or Collins glass works well for this fruity and refreshing cocktail.

📝The Ingredients

This cocktail is very simple and only needs 2 ingredients and some ice.

  • Passoa: Passoa is a sweet and fruity passion fruit liqueur from France that brings a unique and exotic flavor to the cocktail.
  • Orange Juice: Orange juice provides a bright and refreshing citrusy flavor that balances out the sweetness of the Passoa. Make sure your juice a good quality orange juice. it doesn't matter if you choose one with or without pulp, that is totally up to you and what your preferences are.
  • Ice: Ice plays a crucial role in chilling the cocktail, helping to blend the flavors and create a refreshing and thirst-quenching drink. In this recipe, we'll be adding ice to the shaker to chill. It is optional to use some ice in the finished cocktail when pouring into the gals.

With just these three simple ingredients, you can create a delicious and easy-to-make Passoa orange cocktail that's perfect for enjoying on a hot summer day. Simply add Passoa, orange juice, and ice to your shaker, shake well, strain into a glass, and enjoy! For an extra chill, you can also add ice to your serving glass before pouring in the cocktail. Remember to enjoy your Passoa orange cocktail in moderation, and savor every sip of this sweet and fruity concoction.

👩🏻‍🍳How to make a Passoa Orange Cocktail

This cocktail is a shaken drink as it contains a citrus component.

Get a shaker and add some ice. Then pour in the Passoa and orange juice. In this cocktail we work with a ⅓ to ⅔ ratio. Pour in ⅓ Passoa and ⅔ orange juice.

If you want to measure properly I suggest you take an easy number. So, lets say we make a 6dl cocktail. Pour in 2dl Passoa and 4dl orange juice. Now shake well! I usually wing it and pour it in freely. It helps when you pour it into a glas to see when you have about ⅓. Then add the shaker on top of the glas, make sure it sticks together well and shake.

if you want you can add some ice to the glas you serve the coktail in.

Pour the drink into a high glas. Make sure your shaker has a sieve. If it does not then pour your cocktail trough a sieve to keep the ice back. The ice will break in shaker and you don't want that in your finished coktail.

Enjoy!
